SECTIONS

Championship              CFC Rating 1500+  or players with 2+ years of

tournament experience but not rated by the CFC

Intermediate                 CFC Rating 1100 to 1499  or players with 2+

                                        years of chess playing experience

Beginner                       CFC Rating under 1100  and less than 2 years of

chess experience.

TIME CONTROL

All Sections     Rounds 1--3: 1˝ hours per player, maximum 3 hours per game.

Championship Rounds 4--5: 40 moves in 1˝ hrs* ; ˝ hr* to end *30-sec incr each move

Intermediate & Beginner Rounds 4--6: 1˝ hours per player, maximum 3 h per game.

 

PRIZES               

Combined Team Trophy is awarded to the team of 3 students from the same school (1 student from each section) with the highest combined score. 

Team Prizes:  medallions and gift certificates are awarded in each section to teams of 3+ students from the same school who played in the same section and obtained the highest combined scores in the section. 

Individual Prizes:  medallions and gift certificates by section & grade. Top Girl(s).

EQUIPMENT       We thank the ONTARIO CHESS ASSOCIATION for providing

chess sets, boards, and clocks for the tournament.

Players should bring their own sets and clocks for practice/skittles.

 

TOURNAMENT   ENTRY   FEES            

Before April 1, 2015                 Individuals:                     $50 per player

                                                            Team of 3+ players:        $40 per player

April 2 to 8, 2015                      Individuals and Teams:   $75 per player

                                                  No accommodation is guaranteed for late entries

After April 8, 2015                    No registration will be accepted.
